Summer time?

I know I'd be back a little while ago... But due to extreme nagging from my mother for me to get a job, I haven't really been drawing or painting... Any time she seems me relaxing or even just sitting down, she goes crazy :/. But she was out today, and I managed to get some...Crap done :o I really really want to get back to studying and stuff though, because I've been so unhappy lately, with everything that's been going on. I could really use an outlet these days. Anyway, here is today's crap! Super stupid warmup :P

I'm actually kind of happy with where this one is going....I'll have to try REALLY hard to finish it! :)

A small dump (art dump...That is)

A small dump of some recent studies...I'm crazy rusty, and these studies suck. So I compiled them all into one small, convenient image so you guys wouldn't have to suffer through all of them xD I don't feel like writing as much as I normally do right now...But I will next time :).

Bird is...Still the word

Arg! Busy busy busy! I bagned this out like...Well, I think it was less than three hours...But definitely more than two...So I'll say two and a half hours :P. I tried a new way of working today, and am PLEASED with how it works! Although my painting doesn't look anything like the reference because...Likeness is hard, and I was rushing :/

Bird is the word!

Not much time today, I have so much to do :/

I did some bird study sketch...Things :P And started but didn't finish a design for a saddle to ride a Peregrine Falcon :P. I lost the idea while i was doing it though...So ignore the whole picture xD



And I'm aware that the bird on the right is is TERRIBLE! I...don't know what to say about it :P

Here's an Ampharos I drew the other day. It was the first thing I drew/painted since I started back up again....And I know the pose is generic, but it's the only one I could remember from my head! D: I'm happy with it though, I did it fast, and pretty easily :)

I know I need to stop blending the hell out of everything...But it's hard! D:

The concept it to have her walking through fog, with her spear and skimpy outfit, with a bright white light source on one side.



Next time I work on it...I'm going to transform her body or something, because she looks squished :P

Style?

I didn't have as much time today as I did yesterday...Only about 3 hours :(.

But! I think I spent them wisely! I started off studying a portrait photo, but drawing the mouth wasn't working out (as you'll see). So I decided I would test myself, and see how much I could do one my own.

I used the reference as little as I could, and pretty much improvised :p. I dunno if you're supposed to do that...But I thought it was a good idea, and I think it might be the best thing I've painted all year! :o

I included the version with the sketch, and the version without...Since I would like to develop a technique that doesn't have lines in the final product.

Please critique this if you can, as I feel like this is where my skill level is if I spend a fair amount of time on a piece :).
